We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Consultant to lead a large Precision Health Cohort study at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), University of Copenhagen (UCPH) to start August 1, 2026, or after agreement.
About Us
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is an academic research Center that pioneers groundbreaking research towards better cardiometabolic health. Through collaborative interdisciplinary research CBMR aims to transform the basic understanding of cardiometabolic health and accelerate its translation into prevention and treatment strategies. The Center’s uniquely multi- and interdisciplinary approach combines research in genetics, physiology and pharmacology, to better understand the complex interplay of the many factors that drive cardiometabolic disease. CBMR was established in 2010 at the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences and has been located in the Maersk Tower at the Panum building since 2017. The around 260 employees create an international, highly collaborative research environment across disciplines.
About the job
We are looking for a Senior Consultant to lead and oversee the research activities and operational parts within the Danish Precision Health Initiative (DELPHI).
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a team of 10-12 staff working on the Precision Health Initiative.
- Plan and coordinate day‑to‑day project execution to ensure efficient progress and timely delivery.
- Oversee data collection and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Ensure that operating procedures follow established standards and protocols.
- Work closely with the scientific and data‑analytics teams to align operational activities with research goals and ensure high‑quality data collection, documentation, and integrity.
- Coordinate collaborations within the study team as well as with external academic and private‑sector partners.
- Represent DELPHI in meetings with potential collaborators and stakeholders, clearly communicating study aims, progress, and opportunities for engagement.
The Lead will report to Professor Ruth Loos, who is the scientific leader of the Precision Health Cohort.
Requirements, qualifications, and evaluation criteria
We expect you to have:
- A strong research background with a PhD in human physiology, exercise science, or a related field.
- Proven experience designing or coordinating clinical or cohort studies, including ethical approvals, participant recruitment, and data collection.
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and business-developing skills, with an ability to nurture internal and external partnerships across different research centers and collaborators.
- An active interest in science related to obesity, metabolism, nutrition, physical activity, lifestyle and precision health.
- Excellent communication skills both spoken and written in Danish and English.
- Self‑motivation, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
- A collaborative mindset, a positive and proactive attitude, and a solution-oriented approach.

Terms of salary and employment
The appointment as Lead of the Precision Health Cohort is positioned as Senior Consultant (‘Chefkonsulent med personaleansvar’). It is a permanent contract. The start date is August 1, 2026, or after agreement. Working hours will be 37 hours per week on average. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Government and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) with a possibility to negotiate supplements based on qualifications and experience.
When you will be affiliated with the University of Copenhagen or otherwise have access to their research, you may be required to undergo a background screening. The purpose is to protect the security and research integrity of the University of Copenhagen.
