ORCHESTRA AUDITION

2nd Solo Cello

(Danish below)

An audition for a 2nd Solo Cello position will be held on Monday the 2nd of November 2026. The vacancy to be filled as per 1st of January 2027 or according to agreement.

The audition repertoire:

1st round:

Joseph Haydn: Cello Concerto in D-Major, 1. Movement (with Cadenza)

And orchestral excerpts

2nd round:

Antonin Dvorak: Cello Concerto in h-minor op. 104, 1. Movement
or: Robert Schumann: Cello Concerto in a-minor op. 129, 1. Movement

3rd round:

Orchestral excerpts and chamber music.

The Royal Theatre reserves the right to hold the audition for only a limited number of invited applicants.

Applicants will be notified by email sent the 15th of October 2026 if they are invited. Employment is governed by the Collective Agreement for the Royal Danish Theatre covering artistic personnel, the Protocol to the Collective Agreement for the Royal Danish Theatre’s artistic personnel (musicians of the Royal Danish Orchestra), and the local agreement entered between the Royal Danish Theatre and the Danish.

Recruitment will take place under the Joint Agreement for the Royal Theatre artistic staff and the Protocol to the mutual agreement of Kapelmusikere between the Royal Theatre and CO 10 and local agreements between the Royal Theatre and the Danish Musician’s Union. The first year of employment is on a trial basis and may be cancelled subject to one month’s mutual notice.

For applicants outside the EU countries, it is a precondition that at the time of employment the applicant has arranged for work- and residence permit in Denmark.

Der afholdes prøvespil til en 2. solo cello stilling mandag den 2. november 2026 i Det Kongelige Kapel. Stillingen ønskes besat pr.1. januar 2027 eller efter nærmere aftale.

Prøvespils repertoire:

1. Runde:

Joseph Haydn: Cellokoncert i D-Dur, 1. sats (med kadence)

Og orkesteruddrag

2. Runde:

Antonin Dvorak: Cellokoncert h-mol op. 104, 1.

eller: Robert Schumann: Cellokoncert i a-mol op. 129, 1. sats

3. Runde:

Orkesteruddrag og ensemblespil.

Det Kongelige Teater forbeholder sig ret til kun at afholde prøvespil for et begrænset antal inviterede ansøgere.

Ansøgere vil få besked pr. e-mail den 15. oktober 2026, om de inviteres. Ansættelsen sker i henhold til Fællesoverenskomsten for Det Kongelige Teaters kunstneriske personale og Protokollatet til Fællesoverenskomsten vedrørende kapelmusikere mellem Det Kongelige Teater og CO10 samt de lokalaftaler, der er indgået mellem Det Kongelige Teater og Dansk Musiker Forbund.

Det første ansættelsesår er på prøve og kan opsiges med én måneds gensidigt varsel. For ansøgere uden for EU er det en forudsætning, at ansøger ved ansættelsestidspunktet har opnået arbejds- og opholdstilladelse i Danmark.
