Your work tasks
- Hardware integration – assembling measurement systems from individual components (e.g., signal generators, spectrum analyzers, antennas, mixers, SDRs, FPGAs, ADCs/DACs)
- Test system validation – characterizing the platform’s own performance (noise figure, dynamic range, bandwidth, linearity, stability, measurement uncertainty)
- Practical measurements for application examples: mmWave RF signal characterization, Radar sensing, Quantum sensing.
For a Research Assistant: You will develop technical solutions aligned with the consortium’s objectives and contribute to related research areas under supervision.
For a Postdoctoral Researcher: There is a stronger emphasis on initiating and advancing independent research that both supports the project and contributes meaningfully to the broader scientific field, including publishing results and potentially co-supervising students.
Your competencies
- RF hardware integration, e.g., mixers, amplifiers, SDR, FPGAs;
- measurement system characterization, e.g., validating platform performance such as dynamic range, linearity, phase noise and measurement uncertainty;
- automated test & data acquisition, e.g., using Python/MATLAB/LabVIEW for instrument control and automated measurement routines; calibration & uncertainty analysis, e.g., system error calibration for mmWave, radar or quantum sensing measurements.
