We are looking for shipyard workers:

• Pipe Fitters

• Ermeto Pipe Fitters

• Hydraulic Pipe Fitters

• Black Pipes Fitters

for marine industry.

Scan Con offers jobs at the Shipyards on Reparation and New Build Departments.

Key tasks:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout requirements.

• Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe to required shapes using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine.

• Threads pipe using threading machine.

• Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.

• Securing pipes to the ship and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.

• Attach one pipe to another in order to lengthen the run or change the flow direction in a plumbing system.

• Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.

• Performs other duties as required.

Skills:

• English – must be able to communicate in English

• Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety

• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers

• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

Experience:

• Experience from shipyards

• Education or professional experience in a given position
