The academic position

Additionally, the clinical professor should teach and mentor post-docs, PhD-students, and undergraduate students, as well as maintain and develop national and international contacts and secure funding. Participation in assessment work is part of the position. Moreover, profiling this research area in the public eye will be an important task.

Qualifications

Lillebaelt Hospital comprises two specialised units located in Southern Denmark:

Kolding Hospital, with a particular focus on emergency and acute care services.

Vejle Hospital, internationally recognised for its expertise in oncology and specialised treatment of complex diseases.

Collectively, Lillebaelt Hospital provides healthcare services to approximately 522,000 outpatients and 60,000 inpatients annually. The organisation employs around 5,500 healthcare professionals, researchers, and support staff, whose combined efforts contribute to the delivery of evidence-based, high-quality healthcare, the advancement of clinical research and innovation, and the efficient operation of hospital services. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and a commitment to excellence, Lillebaelt Hospital seeks to improve patient outcomes and contribute to the continued development of the healthcare sector.

The Department of Regional Health Research supports research in relation to the person as a whole, the good life and the more common diseases, makes out a platform for scientists and educators and builds a bridge between University of Southern Denmark, The Region of Southern Denmark, Region Zealand, the hospitals in the two regions and the patient. The department focuses on the continuity of patient care across sectors, hospitals, and specialist fields.

Salary and terms of employment

The successful applicant for the clinical professor position will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

Assessment

Shortlisting will be used as part of the initial selection process.

Assessment of shortlisted applications will be done under the existing Appointment Order for universities. Shortlisted applications will be assessed by an assessment committee. The committee may request additional information, and, if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.

When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicants will receive part of the evaluation that concerns themselves.
