Esbjerg Hospital is a newly established university hospital in Denmark, serving as a key teaching hospital for master’s students in medicine. Education and clinical training are integral to the hospital’s mission, with students actively embedded in daily clinical practice across departments. The hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical care across nearly all specialties and functions as a central healthcare hub for the populations of Esbjerg, Grindsted, and Brørup. The Department of Regional Health Research supports research in relation to the person as a whole, the good life and the more common diseases, makes out a platform for scientists and educators and builds a bridge between University of Southern Denmark, The Region of Southern Denmark, Region Zealand, the hospitals in the two regions and the patient. The department focuses on the continuity of patient care across sectors, hospitals, and specialist fields.

Salary and terms of employment

Applications will be assessed by an expert committee. Applicants will be informed of their assessment by the university.

  • track record in obtaining research funding

  • as to the post as consultant: information on the applicant’s own skills as concerns “the seven roles of the physician” inclusive of supporting evidence

  • a research plan detailing the candidate’s ideas and plans for her/his future research work (3-5 pages)
